SQUARE INCH PRICE

My current rate is .025 cents per square inch for edge-to-edge digital designs.

Pricing is figured by quilt length x width to determine the square inches x.025

Ex: a 60"x80" quilt top would be $120.

My Bernina Q20 with Qmatic is on a 10 foot frame and I can accommodate up to a queen size quilt.

Note: Minimum quilting charge is $50

Design options can be found here:

Design decisions will be finalized with local customers during quilt drop off in-person, or through text messages with clients out of the area.

BATTING

I use and stock my favorite Quilters Dream batting in 80/20 Cotton/Poly blend, 100% Cotton (both the popular "Select" Midloft) and Bamboo Blend. Bamboo is my favorite for my own quilts and creates a great drape and lighter weight quilt, perfect for warmer climates.

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price. I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.

Pricing for Batting Options:

Quilters Dream 80/20 Cotton/Poly Blend .41 per inch

Quilters Dream 100% Cotton .43 per inch

Quilters Dream Bamboo Blend .48 inch

For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" inches of the batting of your choice.

65" of Dream 80/20 Cotton/Poly blend @ .41/in = $26.65

65" of Dream 100% Cotton @ .43/in = $27.93

65" of Dream Bamboo blend .48/in = $31.20

Additional Quilters Dream batting varieties can be purchased through me, but special ordering may affect turn around time.

THREAD

I don't charge extra fees for thread use, it's included in your square inch price.

I stock both Glide (#40) and Premasoft (#50) threads in a variety of neutrals, as well as a selection of colors in my workspace. I use prewound bobbins that most closely match the top thread color selection.

My design preference is to match the thread to the lightest color fabric in your quilt so it blends nicely. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.

CUTTING & BINDING

CUTTING: When taking your quilt off the frame I will cut it within about a 1-2" margin around all sides. If you'd like me to remove it as is, with any remaining batting and backing I'm happy to send any excess home with you.

For a flat fee of $10 I'll square the quilt for you and rotary cut all excess so it's ready to be bound.

BINDING: Some people loathe binding, but I actually enjoy it! I'd love to help finalize your quilt by taking care of this for you. I offer 3 options for binding, each priced by linear inch. Linear inches determined by totaling all 4 sides of your quilt. Ex: 60x80 would be 60+60+80+80=280 linear inches

ONE SIDE: You can bring me your already made binding strips and I'll attach them to one side of your quilt. Corners and the finished seam will be mitered. It will be ready for you to hand bind to either side. .10/linear inch

FINISH FOR ME: I'll attach your pre-made binding to the back of your quilt with mitered corners and seam, then iron and machine bind it to the front of your quilt .20/linear inch

JUST TAKE CARE OF IT: You can bring me the fabric you plan to use for binding, select from my stash, or I can order/purchase for you. I'll make 2.5" binding, and attach to the back of your quilt with mitered corners and seam, then iron and machine bind to the front. .35/linear inch, plus the cost of fabric if not provided.

Note: Any binding service includes squaring up and rotary cutting your quilt. This is included in all binding options and will not be an additional charge

TURN AROUND TIME & QUILT PREP

I know how exciting it is to finally finish a project, and I want to get your quilt back to you so you can enjoy it! My current turn around time for longarm quilting is 2 weeks from drop off for standard projects, 3 weeks if binding is included. This timeline begins from the point they arrive in my workshop.

QUILT PREP: Is your quilt ready to be quilted? Before dropping off your quilt please give it a final press, and clip any dark threads that may show through light fabrics. When loading your quilt on my frame I will give your backing and quilt top a quick pass of the iron to remove any fresh creases. However, if you'd like me to give it a more detailed final once over with an ironing board press and clip any dark threads before loading I'll do that for a flat fee of $10 per quilt.

BACKING: Please provide a backing with at least 8-10" additional width and length.

CUSTOM LABELS

If you haven't already planned for a quilt label, I'm happy to help. I can create a custom label, and appliqué it to the corner of your quilt after it's been quilted. I have a selection of designs already created, or can create a custom design just for you. Each label is printed on 100% cotton fabric, attached to interfacing for durability and appliquéd to your quilt. The wording is up to you. I'll send a proof prior to printing.

SHIPPING

I live in Huntersville, North Carolina and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in a sealed bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.

SALES TAX

As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. I'm required by the State of North Carolina to collect a 7.5% sales tax on the quilting service portion of an invoice. Batting, shipping, and any design/pantograph fees are not subject to sales tax if outside the state of North Carolina.
